How to Apply Tempered Glass Without Bubbles
By TezKhareed Team · Updated 2 September 2026
Bubbles under tempered glass are almost always dust, not trapped air. Trapped air works itself out in a day; a speck of dust traps a bubble permanently. So the whole job is really about a clean surface.
What you need
Everything except the last item comes in the box with glass from our tempered glass range:
- Alcohol wipe and dry microfibre cloth
- Dust-removal stickers (or clear tape)
- Alignment frame, if your glass includes one
- A small room with the least dust — a bathroom right after a hot shower is ideal; the steam has settled the dust and there's no fan or open window.
Steps
- Wash and dry your hands. Skin oil is the second-biggest enemy after dust.
- Clean the screen: alcohol wipe first, then buff completely dry with the microfibre. Hold the phone up to a light and check for streaks — do it again if you see any.
- Dust pass: press a dust sticker (or a loop of tape) over the whole screen, lifting straight up. Repeat until nothing lifts off. This is the step people rush and regret.
- Dry-fit: hold the glass just above the phone and line it up with the speaker cutout and edges before peeling anything. Use the alignment frame if you have one.
- Peel and place: remove the bottom protective film, lower the glass by the speaker end, align, then let it fall onto the screen — don't press. The adhesive pulls itself down.
- Let it self-adhere: touch one point in the centre; the glass sucks down from there outward. Watch the wave spread to the edges.
- Push out stragglers: for any small edge bubble, push it toward the nearest edge with the microfibre cloth. Don't use a fingernail.
If a bubble won't go
- Air bubble (clear, mobile): leave it 24 hours; it usually vanishes.
- Dust bubble (has a speck at its centre): lift that corner with tape, touch the speck out with another piece of tape, lay the glass back down. Do this in the first few minutes while the adhesive is still forgiving.
- Rainbow / halo patches: the adhesive hasn't fully bonded yet — gentle even pressure with the cloth, then time.
Curved screens
Full-cover UV glass is a different process: liquid adhesive is spread across the screen and cured with a small UV lamp. Follow that kit's instructions exactly, and keep glue away from the ports and earpiece. If you're not confident, walk-in customers at the Multan warehouse get free fitting.

Frequently asked questions
Will trapped air bubbles under tempered glass go away?+
A clear, mobile air bubble usually works itself out within 24 hours. A bubble with a speck at its centre is dust and is permanent unless you lift and clean it.
What is the best place to apply a screen protector?+
A small bathroom right after a hot shower — the steam has settled the dust and there is no fan or open window stirring it up.
